One Airlifted to Trauma CenterAugust 23, 2005: Firefighters from the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company work quickly to extricate a female driver from the wreckage of her sport utility vehicle. Apparently, the driver somehow lost control of her vehicle causing it to careen through a ditch before rolling over and coming to rest on the side of Big Tree Road. Wedged between the driver's seat-back and the roof of the vehicle, firefighters had to lower the roof and cut the seat-back to free the victim. Once removed from the vehicle, the patient was airlifted to the Erie County Medical Center for trauma care. Paramedics from Big Tree and Rural/Metro attended to the patient on scene. |
