Late Morning Crash Slickens Roadway

12/10/2004:

Hamburg, NY: A late morning crash at the intersection of Milestrip Road and McKinley Parwkay sent emergency crews scurrying into action with reports of multiple injuries and a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, emergency crews found a two car collision with two minorly injured patients. One vehicle had a small engine compartment fire that was quickly extinguished. Fuel and oil saturated the already wet roadway creating an extremely slick surface. Crews spread copious amounts of speedy-dry in an effort to soak up the fluids and make the road less slippery. One patient was tranported to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital for treatment and another patient refused transport. Crews from the Blasdell Volunteer Fire Company and Rural/Metro assisted Big Tree at the scene.
