Big Tree Dedicates New Rescue
Joined by firefighters from throughout the Town of Hamburg, members
of the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company held a dedication ceremony
for the company's new Saulsbury heavy rescue. Chief Bob Stoberl initiated
the ceremony by thanking the vehicle committee members for an outstanding
job designing and equipping the rescue. Erie County Emergency Services
Chaplain Fr. Joe Bayne (ES11) then prayed over the vehicle and blessed
the vehicle and firefighters who will staff the rescue. At the completion
of the ceremony, the new rescue was deluged with water from a number
of fire engines from throughout the Town of Hamburg. At the completion
of the brief ceremony, everyone was invited inside for food and drinks.
