Serious Crash Sends Three To Trauma Center

Hamburg, NY: On February 2, 2005 at 18:29 hours, Big Tree firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with a person possibly trapped. The location of the call was at a notorious intersection which has been the scene of many serious auto accidents.

First arriving chiefs found a two car collision with one person pinned. The call was immediately made for Big Tree Engine 2 for extrication equipment and Big Tree Fire Police to shut down a section of Big Tree road. Upon arrival of Big Tree Engine 2 the vehicle was stabilized and the driver’s door was quickly popped the patient was then turned over to Big Tree Paramedics and transported to Erie County Medical Center.

Crews remained on scene for 30 minutes before going back into service. Big Tree was assisted by Town of Hamburg Police and Rural Metro Medical Services.
