Firefighters from Lake Shore, Big Tree, Woodlawn, Hamburg, and Scranton were dispatched at 15:33 hrs for a report of a structure fire on Old Camp Rd.
Big Tree Chief Chris Zak was the first unit on location and reported a working fire in a 1 1/2 wood frame building with an exposure to buildings on the Bravo and Delta sides. Big Tree Engine 1 was the first Engine on location and quickly deployed a 2 1/2" attack line while obtaining a feed from Lake Shore Engine 1. Crews quickly darkened down the blaze before it spread to the exposures.
Units remained on scene for over 2 hours doing extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the family was tended to by the Red Cross for assistance.
