Big Tree Showcases Extrication Techniques

After a brief rain delay, firefighters from the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company performed an extrication demo outside the Fireman's Building at the Erie County Fair. As the first of four demonstrations to be put on at the fair this year, firefighters demonstrated a variety of tools and techniques used to perform auto extrication. Assistant Chief Ron Klimowicz provided step-by-step narration throughout the demonstration while firefighters worked to remove the vehicle's doors and roof. To illustrate the power of hydraulic rams, firefighters "rolled" the dashboard . As in years past, the crowd seemed to enjoy the demonstration and were impressed with the tools and equipment showcased during the demonstration.
