Big Tree Conducts Fire Prevention Activities

Firefighter greets studentsOctober 10, 2001:
As part of our ongoing fire prevention program, members of the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company spent the past two days visiting schools and putting on fire prevention presentations. Hundreds of children from the Big Tree Elementary School attended these entertaining and educational presentations to learn important fire safety concepts. The comprehensive program, put together by Fire Prevention Chairman Jeff Hosie, included visits from the J-Fire Safety House and Mercy Flight Helicopter. Children were actively engaged to partake in evacuation drills, tours of the helicopter and simulated phone calls to a 9-1-1 dispatcher. As in the past, the children really seemed to enjoy this program. We thank Jeff Hosie for once again putting together a wonderful program.!
