| 10/01/2004: Hamburg, NY: The notorious seven-corners intersection was the scene of a rush hour crash that sent a Town of Hamburg Police officer to ECMC. Southbound McKinley Parkway, South of Route 20, was shut down while firefighters from Big Tree extricated the injured officer from his patrol car. EMS personnel from the Newton-Abbott Fire Company transported the officer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Ironically, this crash comes just as the New York State Department of Transportation prepares to release plans to reconfigure the seven-corners intersection. Town of Hamburg Police are conducting an investigation into the cause of this accident.
