| 4/23/06: Being able to rescue a fellow firefighter or yourself is an imperative skill all firefighters need to know. Led by Chief Chris Zak, EMS Chief Jeff Gruppo, and Rescue Captain Branden Watson firefighters were able to learn and practice these skills in an acquired structure. The house, donated to the Lake Shore Fire Company for training, provided a realistic setting to practice these evolutions. Firefighters learned new drag techniques, bailouts, removing a firefighter through a floor hole, wall breeches, removing a downed firefighter through, and upper floor window with the aide of mechanical advantages. This class was developed from skills learned by the instructors at last year's FireHouse Expo. Many thanks go out to the Lake Shore Fire Company for the use of the building for this
