Quick routes to patient access - Rear of the bus

Rear and side emergency doors provide for quick patient access. However, it is often advantageous to completely remove the doors. Frequently, only a screw driver or ratchet tool is required. However, an air chisel may be beneficial when working on removing doors; especially one with piano hinges.
A roof ladder or platform such as a pickup truck bed can help rescue technicians reach high points on the bus.
Screws or bolts that cannot easily be removed by had tools can be removed with an air chisel.
Removing the screws or bolts on the piano hinge is much easier than attempting to cut the hinge itself. Side or rear doors can quickly be detached from the bus using this technique.
Simple hand tools such as a screw driver can be used to remove the back emergency exit door from the bus.
Besides making for an unobstructed doorway, removing the rear door is the first step in creating a wide opening at the rear of the bus.
